MUSIC OF MEDITATION

The cosmic egg is an argument in creation philosophies of many cultures and civilizations. The egg, laying on primordial waters gives rise to the universe or to a primordial being who in turn creates the entire universe.

The Universe

As deliberated in Proto Indo European Mythologies

Phase 1

Conceptualization

6 Months (Complete)

Scriptural Translation

Research and Understanding: Thorough research on the twelve sounds (Dvādasha Nāda) and their historical significance, particularly in the context of scriptural evidence.

Project Scoping: Outlining the salient objectives of the project, including the intended impact on listeners—both non-practitioners and advanced meditators.

• Identifying Key Stakeholders: Engaging with musicians, sound engineers, meditation experts, and potential audience members to gather insights and establish a collaborative framework.

Phase 2

Composition and Design

1 Year (Complete)

Music Composition

Sound Synthesis: Experimenting with synthesizing the twelve sounds, ensuring each is accurately represented in the composition, reflecting their individual and collective significance.

Musical Structure Development: Creating a structured composition that guides the listener through stages of concentration, meditation, and bliss, utilizing the twelve sounds to enhance the experience.

Integration of Philosophical Elements: Infusing the music with elements that resonate with the philosophical background, such as the concepts of reverberation and higher consciousness.

Phase 3

Production and Testing

1 Year (On-Going)

Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration

Recording and Production: Recording the composed piece with high-quality audio equipment, ensuring clarity and depth in the sound that resonates with the intended effects.

Pilot Testing: Conducting listening sessions with a diverse audience, including both non-practitioners and advanced meditators, to gather feedback on the music’s impact and effectiveness.

Iterative Refinement: Based on feedback, refining the composition and production quality, making necessary adjustments to enhance the listener’s experience.

Phase 4

Neuroscientific Evidence and Evaluation

1 Year (On-Going)

Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration

Gathering Neuroscientific Insights: Researching existing studies on the effects of sound and music on the brain, particularly those related to stress reduction, meditation, and altered states of consciousness.

Conducting Empirical Studies: Collaborate with neuroscientists to design studies measuring participants’ brain activity while listening to the composed piece, using tools like EEG or fMRI to observe changes in brain waves and areas activated during the experience.

Analysis and Documentation: Analyzing the data collected from empirical studies to assess the music’s impact on brain states. Documenting the findings to provide scientific evidence supporting the project’s objectives, highlighting correlations between specific sounds and listener experiences of stress relief and deeper meditation.
